A new treatment of fluctuation correlations near phase transition points

چکیده

A general self-consistency approach allows a thorough treatment of the corrections to the standard mean-field approximation (MFA). The natural extension of standard MFA with the help of a cumulant expansion leads to a new point of view on the MF theories. The proposed approach can be used for a systematic treatment of fluctuation effects of various length scales and, perhaps, for the development of a new coarse graining procedure. We outline and justify our method by some preliminary calculations. Concrete results are given for the critical temperature and the Landau parameters of the φ4-theory – the field counterpart of the Ising model. An important unresolved problem of the modern theory of phase transitions – the problem for the calculation of the true critical temperature, is considered within the framework of the present approach.

Quark Spectrum near Chiral Transition Points

Near the critical temperature of the chiral phase transition, a collective excitation due to fluctuation of the chiral order parameter appears. We investigate how it affects the quark spectrum near but above the critical temperature. The calculated spectral function has many peaks. We show this behavior can be understood in terms of resonance scatterings of a quark off the collective mode.

Flow Pattern and Oil Holdup Prediction in Vertical Oil–Water Two–Phase Flow Using Pressure Fluctuation Signal

In this work, the feasibility of flow pattern and oil hold up the prediction for vertical upward oil–water two–phase flow using pressure fluctuation signals was experimentally investigated. Water and diesel fuel were selected as immiscible liquids. Oil hold up was measured by Quick Closing Valve (QCV) technique, and five flow patterns were identified using high-speed photo...

Magnetic Properties and Phase Transitions in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Simple Cubic Lattice

Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization,  internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.

Aging in the glass phase of a two-dimensional random periodic elastic system.

Using the renormalization group method we investigate the nonequilibrium relaxation of the (Cardy-Ostlund) 2D random sine-Gordon model, which describes pinned arrays of lines. Its statics exhibit a marginal (theta = 0) glass phase for T < Tg described by a line of fixed points. We obtain the universal scaling functions for two-time dynamical response and correlations near Tg for various initial...

Nonequilibrium dynamics and transport near the chiral phase transition of a quark-meson model

Based on the 2PI quantum effective action of the linear sigma model with constituent quarks, we develop a transport approach to study systems out of equilibrium. In particular, we focus on the chiral phase transition as well as the critical point, where nonequilibrium effects near the phase transition give rise to critical behavior such as the fluctuation of the baryon number density. Predictio...
